"Dreadful College Applications"

They all start the same
Asking for your birthday, age, and name.

Sending in your test scores, grades and filling information out.

You eagerly wait to hear back with a lot of doubt.

Spending hours in Mrs. Bilali's room,

Wondering if I will get accepted or if I am in doom.

I start to think, what will I do if I get rejected? So I start to worry

But she reassures me that I will know in a hurry.

I am still so stressed so I then go and workout,

Laughing at myself about what this is all about.

I then go home and press send all,

 Now I wait in anticipation until I get the call.

 I follow up daily and track my application,

Waiting enthusiastically to tell Mrs. Bilali the information.

 My countdown has begun.
Can’t wait to find out and tell everyone!

"A Sleepless Night"

September 4, 2012, 11 o'clock I climb into bed,

I snuggle with my blanket and make sure I don't hit my head.

I toss and turn waiting to fall asleep,

When will sleep slowly come and creep?

Hours pass and I am still lying down awake.

When will I ever catch a break?

I think to myself what can I do? So I start to read a book

That is about an innocent chicken being overcooked.

When that fails I begin to count sheep,

But whatever I do, I make sure not to weep.

After all that, my mind finally stops wondering

And before I know it my eyes are slowly closing and my mind has stopped pondering.

It takes a couple more minutes until I start dreaming

About the first day of senior year which is finally beaming

1, 2, and 3 I am finally asleep.

Ready for senior year which will creep.
